04-06-2013TopPerformances launches a new racing variator 50cc for Minarelli / Yamaha scooter engines (both horizontal and vertical). Approved after along process of development and several tests on track, the newTPR variator introduces important new features compared to itsalready popular predecessor. The most obvious is the use of rollersof 16 mm diameter in place of the traditional 15 mm: this solutionhas been chosen to have available a greater range without the risk ofleakage of the centrifugal weights from sliding tracks.
Theselast have been completely re-drawn under profile of the ramp, toensure a greater range in the first reports and a markedly betteracceleration than the old model. The half-pulley in aluminium,without surface treatments to optimize the grip with the belt, andthe driving rollers steel cap are therefore completely new and haveno more in common with the previous variator.
Thehub, in special plated and polished steel, maintains the diameter of18 mm to allow the insertion of a very short report in departure. TheTPR variator is offered for sale in 3 different packaging: variatorwithout belt (complete with fixed half-pulley, shims for fine-tuningand small installation tools), variator with belt for short armengines and for long arm engines.
